- Ethnic Skin
Most
skin diseases occur in all types of skin, regardless of the pigment of the
skin. However, certain skin problems are more common among African-Americans.
Some of these are: dry or "ashy skin", variations in skin color, vitiligo,
pityriasis alba, dematosis papulosa nigra, kedoids, folliculitis keloidalis,
hair (hair loss, hair breakage, tinea capitis (ringworm), ingrown hairs
of the beard (razor bumps), and nails.
